How to measure your bra size at home (and why it matters)
Measure your underbust for the band and the fullest point of your bust; the difference gives your cup. Because sizes vary by brand, trying on in store is the most accurate. Come by IntimoBruna in Durrës and we'll help for free.
Many women wear the wrong bra size without realising it, and you feel it all day long. The right bra sits comfortably, supports you well and makes every outfit look better. Here's how to find your size.
How to measure at home
All you need is a tape measure and a few minutes in front of the mirror. Measure while wearing a thin, non-padded bra, or no bra at all.
- Measure your underbust (the band): keep the tape horizontal around your ribcage, just under the bust. That number, rounded, gives your band size (for example 75, 80, 85).
- Measure the fullest point of your bust: run the tape over the fullest part, without pulling it tight.
- Subtract the band from the bust measurement: the difference gives your cup (around 12-13 cm is a B cup, around 15 cm is a C cup, and so on).
These are only a starting point. Sizes vary from brand to brand, so use them as a guide, not a hard rule.
Signs your bra doesn't fit
- The band rides up your back: usually means the band is too loose.
- Straps dig in or slip off: adjust them, and if that's not enough, the size isn't right.
- The bust spills out of the cup: the cup is too small.
- The cup gapes or wrinkles: the cup is too big.
- The wire pokes or presses: the shape or size doesn't suit you.
The right bra you don't feel at all, it simply makes you feel good in your own skin.
Why an in-store fitting matters
Numbers help, but your body isn't just numbers. Brand, style and cup shape vary a lot, so the same size can fit differently across two bras. A fitting in the shop sorts this out in a few minutes. We'll help you try on a few sizes and styles and find the one that truly fits you well.
Quick care tips
- Rotate your bras, don't wear the same one every day.
- Hand-wash them or use a laundry bag, so they keep their shape longer.
- Replace them after about a year of regular wear, when the elastic gives out.
At IntimoBruna we're happy to help you find the right size, no rush. Come by the shop in Durrës for a fitting, or message us on WhatsApp.
